Down with BB (hardly)

People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record from everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one*-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annihilated, « vaporized » was the usual word.(Chap.I-I GEORGE ORWELL NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR Penguin Student Edition) At this moment W doesn’t care for it at all, actually he doesn’t care but for one thing : to be down with BB.

Sand (days in the desert)

What if when in the desert, the Christ had succumbed to the temptation of the Serpent/Dragon/Satan?

He would most probably still be alive those days and the world would be different and we, we might not be as we are.

A hazitation between Godot and Godot

With a clouded view what are we to do?
And Godot

“- What are we to do?
-We’ll hang ourselves tomorrow unless Portillo comes.”

This could be the word or thought two angels said to one another once upon a time while they’d be envisaging their incarnation. They’re likely to have thought of every eventuality in order that the adventure should be a nice trip. Let’s sum up quickly that it is about. Two angels -or one God cut in two parts- send themselves down on Earth to experience human kind and make something together there (perhaps simply by the witness of their re-incounter/recognition /respective knowing in such reality).
They should fall, bath in life without much indication to find each other back in the multitude of beings. Almost everything would be erased of their memory and they’ve left to recover it.

<<-We’ll hang ourselves tomorrow unless Portillo comes.>>
This requires an explanation to be acceptable and understood properly. I’m sure that they’re not the kind to just wait and see what’s going to happen without their making. So what then when they seem to have lost their divinity and angelic powers at the same time? It’s not saying that when the view is clouded means that there is no future and as the picture says resigned to fatality and that we should be satisfied with waiting relying to something as improbable as the coming of Portillo whoever might Portillo be and whatever we hope he would do for us that is even one more assumption.

Certainly it’s not saying that we should wait and see blind and disable our fatal fate if we’re not satisfied with the idea, but think about it together, talk about it till we find an answer that fits everybody. Nevertheless can’t it be said that somewhat we are already hanging indeed, actually hanging to a common thought or wish, a common wish to find a solution we still haven’t got ?
Also there is Portillo. It can refer to the unlimited resource of the spirit and especially to its ability to create whatever should come in answer to a need. Creative thought.

Let’s read the tale the picture tells otherwise then. Let’s read it the other ‘time way’. Now they are under the tree two old chaps talking about the past, remembering it and setting life to it again by its evocation:

“-Let’s project/send ourselves in a day passed that we can’t remember. What is it that we’ve done at the time? Let’s start from that we can remember, you know that time when we’re hanged to that tree (like to the tree of life).
-Yes we are hanging and thinking what should change so that we could free ourselves from the unbearable –that we consider unbearable- and incarnate instead of hanging nowhere.

(They don’t want as the angels of Wings of Desire (Wim Wenders) to stay suspended out of reality out of time and space anymore -that place where they can but talk and think without having a shape and a reality but the one one can figure of oneself – no mirror, no way back but the perspective of a shape and reality to take in any(?) mirror. If they have one in the movie, it is but for the necessities of making it watchable for the audience–. They’re planning to both incarnate and meet again there.)

-…Dreaming together, planning our existence to come once we wake up from sleep to go on the experiment of life, to realise the dream once we’ve prepared. Normally and most generally people can’t remember of the night-dream when they wake up, yet it is somewhere making its job in their consciousness, conditioning the way they behave the next day.

The picture shows one of the pictures of the cartoon they’re drawing. Here they’re talking the eventuality, once fallen, of finding themselves departed and locked in that reality enable to make it neither escape something bound to them – indeed they’ve submitted to conditions they pre-defined themselves and applied to them of their own free will. Yet they’ve got still an alternative there as a last resort. As humans remembering that they are of ex-angelic nature they’ve always got the alternative as the last resort to hang themselves, that is to say to make abstraction of a reality eventually become to hard to bear. Of course hanging for a human equals to death. But if they do mean to be connected TOGETHER they can be as empowered as God again. “Hanging” in the symbolic meaning stands for “making abstraction” litteraly suspended. They can make abstraction of the body like some ascetics for instance can put themselves in a state of deep meditation and work things beyond that is thought possible for normal people.
Those angels can’t fail their mission anyway if they remember that after all it is all but a dream they’re having –(for any reason whatever you’re pleased to think : just to have fun, go to a mission they’re commissioned to such as to save mankind if they want to save themselves too, or to help them humans recover or find their angelic nature back along with themselves…etc.)-

Their only desire, to be listened and thanked for the favour they make to mankind (to those who’d be interested to know). I’d be very much honoured and proud to be one of them, one of the first who come to bring that good new. I know how well that some people need something else to live than such the thick and restrictive reality imposed. I wish I could do it for me first and for those who’d like to come along in that dream. What do you think?

I‘ve never wanted to fight neither to lie –To lie certainly is not the cheapest fight-. I’ve compromised myself however yeash ‘of my own free will’. So tainted am I. I’ve compromised until it’s become unbearable to breathe. No breath, no fight. I couldn’t fight no more. So I’ve hidden. They wouldn’t forget me long, always relegating me further down. I don’t know how long I can resist the treatment.

2.“trespassers will be prosecuted”

“Music is the only art that is dead on paper and alive in the air. The little black dots called notes are dead. One has to bring them to life”, said that Italian conductor the other day. Notes, letters and words: all the same. Languages are transgressions yet once in a while they allow respiration between those who speak depending on that both parts mean to say and wind. Whatever the channel the speech owe -spit show- but goes on.

I feel that I’m at school with that. At the lowest level. Before anything I’ve got to be taught how to breathe cause I have lost that ability supposed to be the most natural reflex of life. In the meanwhile I’m locked here in Gehenna the old cemetery of aborted souls, now a desertic land. One more definition of the Nephilim: dry souls working human resource like live-stock. I feel like I’m a culprit (cul-prit ‘took-ass’ in my tongue- Pritt is also a brand of glu) caught in my own trap even if only recently alive to –be doing- it, because I’ve been trained so much for such a ‘living’. Taught from the beginning that survey is under one main condition that is to fight, how could I imagine anything else. In that system each seat is taken by strength at great expense -whatever the seat whatever the path chosen- and the cost of survey as controls increase day by day. Those who transgress imperil their life. I want life and liberty but I wouldn’t accept a seat in such a world. No-way.

Who in deed Jean-Baptiste?

WHO ARE YOU ? I was asked. This simple three words question raise many others to answer it.
– WHO : implies the idea of a person, someone undefined therefore the question could also read as “ are you human?” Or more precisely “(What if) you were human?” as a supposition, “were” of the verb 'to be' but to the conditional not past form.

– ARE second person interrogative form of the verb “to be” induces the plural and/or “other” outer glance supposing another one retrospectively-

– YOU –confirms the idea that there is someone else to make us.

“Who makes you feel like I make you feel” seems to answer Dido in the 7th song of her album Life for Rent.

As a start, I have to admit that I am

Am I? I’ve wondered. Well it seems. At least I believe so. Then if I am, does it have to be someone? Why should I be someone? What for and for whom should I be (+ be someone)?

I have to believe that I can be. – “at least I think that I am” – (said Winston the bad answer in 1984 G.Orwell)

I can see it, hear it, feel it by the looks in eyes following my movements, seeming to answer my thoughts sometimes when I need not to say, making me think that I’m shaped like I can see they’re shaped,
I can hear it by the sound and meaning of voices talking to me, seeming addressed to me. To what are they meaning to talk I should understand later is but an idea, their own idea of what I am or who I am, a restrictive idea in which I sometimes recognize myself, sometimes I don’t. I have to disagree to what they claim I am and I let them know that I am different even if it costs me or unpleases them often.
I can feel it when eyes catch mine showing signs telling thoughts that I am, when we can find a common field of experimentation, showing the same signs towards something that belongs to both realities.

What could I have done then?

So at least I think that I am unless it is a lie I’ve been teached to believe. Why should I have learnt it again is another question: to survive or to please someone who wants me to be.
The only thing lays in this: I’m not satisfied with their lies, with the idea of what they make me be, the idea they pretend they have of myself and what it implies I should do and say. I’m not satisfied with what they want me to be I’ve thought to myself some past day.
Nevertheless I’ve accepted to fulfil such ideas of myself. Ideas made of those glimpses, catches of reality those people my “semblant” ones yet others/different: “mes semblables” were pretending I was.
And I’ve received in heritance “by semblance” two conditions - two maledictions rather -:

1/ (Now) you must work to survive
2/ You must die someday, everybody dies in the end.

Interesting to notice at this point that in the end has a synonym: eventually which in French implies the idea of eventuality. No obligation, rather precisely the opposite meaning!
“Eventuellement” in French means “it is possible that, there is a possibility of ”
Translate then that there is a possibility to die doesn’t say that it will happen.

But at that period my mother tongue was French, and there was no eventuality in their condition. It was an order nobody ever could escape. Nobody not even their Master of Thoughts, ex-the man whom they had put themselves under control. And this one had suffered the worse death before he could come back from the dead to tell them : Do as I told and you will be saved like me! Then he was called away and he was named from that “eventual” time Iknew (pronounced Aynaw). Why has a foolish crowd followed his precepts remains obscure to me. Martyrs and so many crimes followed then in the name of this man reported to have won over Death. Resuscitated is the word… again but I’m going too far for the here topic what’s in the word “ressusciter” or re-susciter = susciter à nouveau. In a Spanish pronunciation Jesus-citer, Je-sus-citer. 1.I could cite, I could quote, I could hold someone up as an example. 2. I could summon, I could subpoena a witness. 3. I could mention someone in dispatches. Also to mention the “Rhesus” is to give the identification of someone by their blood card.

2/ You must die. There’s and idea of annihilation in death, of not only the destruction of the body but the identity of the one who dies. See also 1984, the equivalent term is vaporised.
You must die might you work or not. But if you work at least you can earn some privileges forbidden to those who don’t.
You will die sooner or later. You never know when until it happens…etc.
There is something wrong with it I’ve understood when I’ve discovered that some people didn’t work, didn’t have to work never to get good treatments and advantages of all kinds. On the opposite those who didn’t work seemed to have much more privileges than those who worked. Actually I hadn’t met any personally but I was constantly told and showed such people. So they were lying. Everybody was lying. Who was at the origin of this lie remained unanswered though. Then I’ve wondered. If some people don’t have to work why should I?
And what about this man who was reported to have come back from the Dead now an immortal? Where is the truth?

I come out of someone. I am born from an idea of someone who makes me who I am.
As far as I am the creature of this individual, I haven’t the power to decide to be or not to be, I have no power indeed against this overpowered God to me.
The only power that I have maybe is to negotiate who the best I could be to fulfil their goal, and allow myself to be taught who it is I want to be.

I must be baptised to be someone.

I must get from someone the symbolic sign of life that in this world is water. And I must be baptised by someone who’d drop this sign of life on my forehead so that I fulfil to this reality. (continue to see the parallel between forehead and wings, third eye). Water’s the best conductor for life impulse, electricity.

Who do I want to be? How do I know or how am I teached?

If I’ve got to be -for any reason-, if I can be something whatever I suppose that I want to free myself first and to free those who are like me and want to be freed as well. Yet free what for I don’t know, I only know that I dislike the idea to be forced to be. I can’t bear the idea that I have no choice, that I wasn’t asked before being injected in this world. Have I given my consent, all I know is I can’t remember giving my consent. I want to do as I will. The only way for me if I had got to be a slave should be to be the slave of the only master who’d be the one I take as my slave the same. But no. No slavery. I want to be of my own free will, it’s got to be a question of will after all, if not what else? A question of shared advertent wills perhaps also, a question of will in advertence(°).

(°) advertent from lexilogos Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for June 23

advertent • \ad-VER-tunt\ • adjective
: giving attention : heedful - Example sentence:
Marcia listened to everything I said with an advertent expression on her face, then proceeded to tell me, point by point, why she disagreed with me.

Did you know?
You may be thinking that "advertent" should mean "intentional." After all, "inadvertent" means "unintentional." Take away the negative prefix "in-" and you're left with that word's opposite, right? If this is your line of thought, you're not entirely off base; the two words (which both entered English in the 17th century and derive from Latin "advertere," meaning "to turn the mind or attention") are in fact closely linked. But "inadvertent" has another, older meaning: "inattentive" or "not focusing the mind on a matter." The established meaning of "advertent" falls opposite that older sense of "inadvertent." Does this mean that "advertent" never means "intentional"? Not exactly. We have seen some evidence of this use, but it's not yet well enough established to be entered in our dictionaries.
or Red-Herring was also word of the day of the Oxford dictionary but to answer another question not on topic here. The link I’m not sure either.

Whatever, they’ve told and repeated me that they’ve desired me, that I’ve come as the result of their love for eachother. How can I believe that is such a lie to me? How can someone In the name of love (who pretends to love) submit their loved child to slavery in the same prison where they are kept ? How could them gods submit their loved child to receive the same treatment like they get or hand him over to their Master’s justice if he tried to shirk their duty?
Condemn their child to pay the high tax and to humiliation and to get all the worse if he’d persist to do the way to free them and him eventually? They wouldn’t let him do. They wouldn’t let him be. Just because it would put them in front of the void of their live and their most fear tidily hidden and shut up behind the promise of their master: “Do as I told and you will be saved (I will return to save you).”
A big part of the people are still expecting the return of this man though in the end of times. In the meantime they accept to die and to stay somewhere until they all come back down on earth altogether, I know no more. How can they believe such a foolish thing. The earth would be so crowded with everybody of all times altogether and every problems associated to such a fight it would become to get some land. It’s only one aspect of the unreality of their belief.

The next thing I’ve discovered was that not everybody took this man to be a saviour, a messiah. They don’t believe in resurrection. Some are waiting for the end of times to be saved and others are waiting the return of a messiah.

WHO ARE YOU? “For whom/What” DO YOU “think you are/want to be”?

How to answer? From whatever, wherever you are, wonder, ask for it and see and listen what life is showing/telling you.

Can you be this? Can you do that? Do you want to?
If the answer is yes/if the answer is not, why and/or why not?

What would you like in return? I’ve wished for someone. I’ve asked for a companion who’d share it with me.

I have called for this one with that I had got in mind, that I could think and wish at the time, with an idea of this one meant to be a man.
I realize now that I’ve never enquired whether he’d be okay to fulfil my dream. I’ve asked God not him. I’ve taken for granted that he’d consent. I realise it now and it is that’s being done to me too. Even if I’d be okay eventually I wish I could do it my way.

He’s not refused to exist for me actually but to see me. Then I’ve refused to be anymore as long as he wouldn’t call me to existence.
I took for granted that he had answered my call, that he was. At least I have persuaded myself of it. I’ve been seduced. I’ve wished to access the object of my desire and not managing to do so I’ve thought that I should seduce him my turn.

I had chosen a prostitute. A sacred one. How call him anyway who’d be selling himself making benefits and getting money from his charms. The charms of his voice, of his looking style, their originality attracted attention and made the difference in the beginning with the others on the market. He’d work them like a business man. Meticulously, with professionalism.
His work should be expensive though. He’d never address them personally. To believe so would mean to get caught in the web he has weaved. I don’t know how many victims he’s done.
As one of them I have paid and asked for a Rendezvous I could never obtain. I dared not to offer money for it though. How much he would have asked if I had? It seemed to say it would never be expensive enough anyway.
He seemed in need, everything in him called for something but how to satisfy him I had to wonder.
How since he would pretend the opposite literally in the end?

I need no one and I need nothing but I can wait, I’ve been dead for so long” (From the Fire) Dead? No! But he wasn’t joking. I knew he wasn’t meaning a joke anyway. He was believing so. So there it was, I should bring him life. He had said it as well somewhere else.

some want liberty, some want Christ, I want light/life” (Chaocracy) love-light-life-liberty whatever, everybody wants the same potentially. It is all said in that song.

He wouldn’t ask in his resistance to my world, my reality. He would only call for their destruction although it seemed such a foolish idea to me as he was in there and submitted to its rules as well. But he wouldn’t care. He would go on with his maddening invocations all the more.
And it began to happen…and he would go with his mad laugh.

I’ve tried to contact him all along the way but I was spurned every time. He’s never answered until that day when I’ve thought that he might have answered eventually, except one detail: she would pretend she wasn’t him but her. To me there was evidence that she was him…

“Keeper of the Gate”-should be her name here- knows the rest of that part of the story I give a quick sight here. We could talk to each other daily and for several months. Then she’s turned my dream in ridicule calling it a cheap romance. She’s eventually cut our correspondence after I had almost obtained an appointment with her.

In the end, I guess I have to beg his forgiveness maybe because nobody’s there (yet) to do it.
Perhaps after all I’m the only one to whom he should forgive rather than his parents, society, whoever else. It might be the only lack of his life and I would be the only one qualified and able to beg him forgiveness and plea for mercy of my insanity. My punishment.

Instead of taking the opportunity of joining the resistance (as the only alternative offered to those unsatisfyed with the Party)Winston should have thought it twice.
Instead of resisting (fighting against) without a real meant motivation to do so he should -if he was faithful like he pretends he has lately, faith in something he fails to define though- he should have wondered about the system and studied it thoroughtly. He should have studied in what it doesn't suit him and why he doesn't fit the system before changing anything, and certainly not falling in the flagrant trick of Goldstein. He should have drawn his way in this basic world, his ground of existence. He should have considered the part he's recieved to play and classified the points he agrees and those he disagrees, the conditions he's satistied with and those he is not satisfied with. Then he could have made up his mind, deciding to work things from where he was or escaping the system. Unfortunately and surprisingly he hasn't done the way and satisfied himself with the only two options offered.
The aim of the state or of democracy is to make a community satisfying every members. From that ensues that it's got to adapt to those who compose it. Reforms, changes happen all the time since a society is moving like his people are moving coming and going all the time.
Winston should have found his place naturally in the system of the Party. he should have been able to talk for himself, talk for his needs instead of staying mute and conspiring in the shadow not defining what precisely unpleased him.
But that's another story. The story of pionneers/outsiders.
Winston is responsible for the treatment he gets. He's appealed on it.

The same day he commits crime-thought, he meets O'Brien's eyes
He delegates his thoughts taking the easiest way. He's 39 however, it implies that he's got a life behind himself. So why now ? Why at the age of thirty nine does his life change from its quiet dejected routine ?

Doublethink : other definition. A gathered thought by two. Teilhard de Chardin enlarges it to the whole humanity, to everybody.

Doublethink.. doublespeak : doublespeak - It is important to note that this term does not appear anywhere within Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. I mention it here only due to its similarity to other Newspeak terms such as doublethink, duckspeak, Newspeak, and Oldspeak. And even though it appears that the term was not actually created by Orwell himself, it does carry a very Orwellian meaning of "Deliberately ambiguous or evasive language; any language that pretends to communicate but actually does not." Not a language then !

Thoughtcrime (sea crimethink) : the day begins with thoughtcrime, the first thought to come in the morning signs the end of the night. Now why does it come and how is another question left in the air.

Room 101 :
Room 101 - The final punishment for thoughtcriminals is in the Ministry of Love.
"What is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world....The worst thing in the world varies from individual to individual.

Nineteen Eighty-Four is NOW

Orwell's entire body of work portrays a complete philosophy, encompassing the political, social and, on an even deeper level, the psychological interplay between the individual and the group. (The idea of the group, as opposed to the larger and more generic "society", is compelling in Orwell's work, because of its more pervasive and immediate importance to the individual's well being.) While on a less fundamental level, Orwell's writing may be seen as merely concerned with the struggle between the individual and the group, Orwell's deeper view is a more integrated one.
It is, at base, that the individual's relationship to the particular group in which he lives and functions, and, in turn, the group's attitude toward the individual will ultimately determine the individual's autonomy, that is, his freedom to be himself; to be. As his view of the writings of Charles Dickens was simply that "If men would behave decently, the world would be decent", Orwell implores that our most basic individual responsibility is not merely to stand against the group, but, as individuals within the group, to act in such a way as to make the group a viable place in which the individual can thrive.* As Winston Smith so indelibly and painfully illustrates, given our psychological constraints, to ask anything more of the individual is to imagine something that cannot be.
Thus, Orwell believes and Nineteen Eighty-Four demonstrates that only when we create groups in which the individual is valued will each individual be safe and able to survive. And, only then, will the individual be capable of supporting the enlightened values of the group itself.
Nineteen Eighty-Four is not and never has been just a year. Nor is the world portrayed by George Orwell in Nineteen Eighty-Four a place or even merely a set of political or social circumstances. Rather, Nineteen Eighty-Four is a state of mind, a way of being, an atmosphere in which the dark side of our nature lives and turns all around it darker still. It is a time or place which we create when we turn away from the light that is within us, within each individual self, to the empty darkness of group will and psychology; of "mass-mindedness". Thus do we create for ourselves to live in the world of Nineteen Eighty-Four.

Orwell's "fiction" of a world in which, but for a lingering echo, individuality had all but passed into extinction, could have been set in any time or place where "mass-mindedness" is paramount and where the individual exists merely to serve the group. Throughout history, most religions have preached, most governments have practiced and most societies have been organized around such "mass-mindedness". It is only the calendar which might confuse and comfort us, which might convince us that Nineteen Eighty-Four was merely a gruesome story about a time and place that never was nor could ever be. But nothing is further from the truth. And the simple truth is that Nineteen Eighty-Four is NOW.

In Nineteen Eighty-Four, there are no heroes, except as an idea, an ideal may be said to be a hero. All of its characters are exceedingly human, and this is what makes Nineteen Eighty-Four both timely and timeless, both powerful and profoundly pathetic. Nineteen Eighty-Four is often upsetting, sometimes disheartening, but, when its main lesson is learned, never depressing. It is fundamentally a story of hope, of a truth which can be discovered (although too late for all concerned); a truth which can be seen by us and taken as not only our ideal, but as the practical guide by which, to a greater or lesser extent, we can avoid the very pitfalls which consumed Winston and Julia and O'Brien and Big Brother, and liberate ourselves from the tyranny and ultimate destructiveness of the group and its mass-minded stranglehold on our hearts and our souls.
Nineteen Eighty-Four is a simple story of faith wrongly placed.

Winston Smith, its main character, searches to escape the suffocating and oppressive world manipulated by and for a ruling group, The Party. He believes that he is seeking a political, a social solution with which he can combat, can destroy the evil of group-think and the "mass-mindedness" in which he lives. Instead, he finds the most exquisitely human, individual "weapon" with which to pursue his salvation: love. But, as we humans are too often prone to do, Winston overlooks what is simple and obvious, what is at hand, and, even as do those he disdains, he puts his faith in another group, The Brotherhood. (It is not for Winston to realize that his answer lies in the idea and practice of "brotherhood", rather than in the imaginary purity of "The Brotherhood".) In the end, Winston is betrayed not by his enemies, but, in a real sense, by himself, by his failure to see the worth in the object of his own worship; the individual and the emotional life with which he or she can find their own peace and presence, even in a world gone apparently mad.
"That which we seek must be our teacher."

(*) : What is our most basic individual reponsability about ? With regard to the group should be of little importance since it’s the same thing. It’s just a question of focus like watching something from a different distance.

Tibetan wisdom for knowing (check the quote of Kalou Rimpotche)

The Messianic Idea in Judaism
Belief in the eventual coming of the moshiach is a basic and fundamental part of traditional Judaism. It is part of Rambam's 13 Principles of Faith, the minimum requirements of Jewish belief. In the Shemoneh Esrei prayer, recited three times daily, we pray for all of the elements of the coming of the moshiach: ingathering of the exiles; restoration of the religious courts of justice; an end of wickedness, sin and heresy; reward to the righteous; rebuilding of Jerusalem; restoration of the line of King David; and restoration of Temple service.
Modern scholars suggest that the messianic concept was introduced later in the history of Judaism, during the age of the prophets. They note that the messianic concept is not mentioned anywhere in the Torah (the first five books of the Bible).
However, traditional Judaism maintains that the messianic idea has always been a part of Judaism. The moshiach is not mentioned explicitly in the Torah, because the Torah was written in terms that all people could understand, and the abstract concept of a distant, spiritual, future reward was beyond the comprehension of some people. However, the Torah contains several references to "the End of Days" (achareet ha-yameem), which is the time of the moshiach; thus, the concept of moshiach was known in the most ancient times.
The term "moshiach" literally means "the anointed one," and refers to the ancient practice of anointing kings with oil when they took the throne. The moshiach is the one who will be anointed as king in the End of Days.( *-)
The word "moshiach" does not mean "savior." The notion of an innocent, divine or semi-divine being who will sacrifice himself to save us from the consequences of our own sins is a purely Christian concept that has no basis in Jewish thought. Unfortunately, this Christian concept has become so deeply ingrained in the English word "messiah" that this English word can no longer be used to refer to the Jewish concept. The word "moshiach" will be used throughout this page.
The Moshiach
The moshiach will be a great political leader descended from King David (Jeremiah 23:5). The moshiach is often referred to as "moshiach ben David" (moshiach, son of David). He will be well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments. (Isaiah 11:2-5) He will be a charismatic leader, inspiring others to follow his example. He will be a great military leader, who will win battles for Israel. He will be a great judge, who makes righteous decisions (Jeremiah 33:15). But above all, he will be a human being, not a god, demi-god or other supernatural being.
It has been said that in every generation, a person is born with the potential to be the moshiach. If the time is right for the messianic age within that person's lifetime, then that person will be the moshiach. But if that person dies before he completes the mission of the moshiach, then that person is not the moshiach.

What Will the Moshiach Do?
Before the time of the moshiach, there shall be war and suffering (Ezekiel 38:16)
The moshiach will bring about the political and spiritual redemption of the Jewish people by bringing us back to Israel and restoring Jerusalem**/

Olam Ha-Ba The world after the messiah comes
The world after the messiah comes is often referred to in Jewish literature as Olam Ha-Ba (oh-LAHM hah-BAH), the World to Come.(*/*) Olam Ha-Ba will be characterized by the peaceful co-existence of all people. (Isaiah 2:4) Hatred, intolerance and war will cease to exist. Some authorities suggest that the laws of nature will change, so that predatory beasts will no longer seek prey and agriculture will bring forth supernatural abundance (Isaiah 11:6-11:9). Others, however, say that these statements are merely an allegory for peace and prosperity.
All of the Je-wish people will return from their ex-ile among the nations to their home in Israel (Isaiah 11:11-12; Jeremiah 23:8; 30:3; Hosea 3:4-5). The law of the Ju-bilee will be reinstated.

ISLAM 101 Verses From The Holy Quran
Is it not (the case) that to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and on earth? Is it not (the case) that God's promise (of the Day of Judgment) is assuredly true? Yet most of them understand not.It is He Who gives life and who takes it, and to Him shall you all be brought back.O mankind! there has come to you a direction from your Lord God and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts,- and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy. Say: "In the bounty of God. And in His Mercy,- in that let them rejoice": that is better than the (wealth) they hoard. (The Holy Quran, 10:55-58)
About 1400 years ago, in his last sermon, Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) said:
“All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white — except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefore do injustice to yourselves. Remember one day you will meet Allah and answer your deeds. So beware: Do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.”

The resistance was the revolutionary group which was supposedly led by the arch-traitor, Emmanuel Goldstein. There is some question as to whether or not this group actually existed.
Same statement for Big Brother. (link : Big Brother - Also refered to as simply "B.B.". Similar to America's "Uncle Sam", except this individual is the leader of the nation. In Oceania, Big Brother is worshiped almost as if he were a god.And just like the gods of most religions, Big Brother is most likely fictional. Orwell never refers to Big Brother by his 'real' name, and it would appear that nobody in Oceania possesses this information either. Winston's memory is a little foggy, but he does share some of the history of BB's rise to power with us:
"The story really began in the middle sixties, the period of the great purges in which the original leaders of the Revolution were wiped out once and for all. By 1970 none of them was left, except Big Brother himself. All the rest had by that time been exposed as traitors and counter- revolutionaries."
But this really doesn't answer the question of whether Big Brother is a 'real' individual or not. But elsewhere in the book there are hints that Big Brother is a fictional leader:
"Nobody has ever seen Big Brother. He is a face on the hoardings, a voice on the telescreen. We may be reasonably sure that he will never die, and there is already considerable uncertainty as to when he was born. Big Brother is the guise in which the Party chooses to exhibit itself to the world. His function is to act as a focusing point for love, fear, and reverence, emotions which are more easily felt towards an individual than towards an organization."
It also fits the ideology of Ingsoc to have a fictional leader. It would go a long way to help the stability of the nation, since it would be difficult for any power-hungry inner party members to stage a coup d'etat against an imaginary phantom.)
Then why bother with such notions, as unreal as these. What is real should be of importance.

unperson - Person that has been erased from existence by the government for breaking the law in some way. A unperson is completely erased from history. All records of their existence is removed from record, and all party members are expected to removed them from memory. To mention their name is considered thoughtcrime. This eliminates any possibility of martyrdom.

What could be the most dangerous thing for an angel ? The worst fear ?

« People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record from everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one*-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annihilated, « vaporized » was the usual word.(Chapter I-I Penguin Student Edition of 1984 – Eric Blair/George Orwell)
* one-time, not once, like there can be first and second sight, burnt third-degree and taken at face value.
At this moment W doesn’t care for it at all, actually he doesn’t care but for one thing : to be down with BB.

He was already dead, he reflected. (I, II p28-10)

Yet, « He could not help feeling a twinge of panic. It was absurd, since the writing of those particular words was not more dangerous than the initial act of opening the diary ; but for a moment he was tempted to tear out the spoiled pages and abandon the enterprise altogether. He did not do so, however, because he knew that it was useless. Whether he wrote DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER, or whether he refrained from writing it, made no difference. Whether he went on with the diary, or whether he did not go on with it, made no difference. The thought Police *** would get him just the same.
(***Thought Police like police of character. Might it be ARIAL VERDANA TIMES NEW ROMAN is of little importance but the thought will find a police anyway.)
He had commited – would still have committed even if he had never set pen to paper ( !!!) – the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thought crime they called it.Thought crime was not a thing that could be concealed for ever. You might dodge successfuly for a while even for years (a thousand or more) but sooner or later they were bound to get you. »

« What happens to you here is for ever (words heard somewhere) understand that in advance. …/… never again will you be capable of ordinary human feeling. Everything will be dead inside you. Never again will you be capable of love, or friendship, or joy of living, or laughter, or curiosity, or courage, or integrity. You will be hollow. (III, II p.232)

« Nothing was your own except the few cubic centimeters inside your skull.…/… His heart quailed before the enormous pyramidal shape. It was too strong. He could not be stormed. He wondered again for whom he was writing the diary. For the future, for the past - for an age that might be imaginary. And in front of him there lay not death but annihilation. The diary would be reduced to ashes and himself to vapour. Only the Thought Police would read what he had written, before they wiped it out of existence and out of memory. How could you make appeal to the future when not a trace of you, not even an anonymous word scribbled on a piece of paper could physically survive ? » I, II p.27-27

« For whom it suddenly occurred him to wonder was he writing this diary ? For the future, for the unborn. His mind hovered for a moment round the doubtful date on the page, and then fetched up with a bump against the Newspeak word « doublethink ». For the first time the magnitude of what he had undertaken came home to him. How could you communicate with the future ? It was of its nature impossible (p.10, l.25)°°°. Either the future would resemble the present in which case it would not listen to him : or it would be different from it, and his predicament would be meaningless.

°°° How could you communicate with the future ? ? It was of its nature impossible. Simply as long as the future is not an entity, a person should have been enough an explanation.°°°

« To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone – to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone :
From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink -greetings !
